Saturday, Sept. 18. Lincoln, NE. The Zoo Bar.

My daughter and I spent the day screen printing band shirts with Ron. Lillian is a pro. After one print, she did a little dance of joy and screamed, “Let’s do that again!” Ron said that should be the motto of all print-making.

I now have child-size shirts for sale with the crawdad Ron designed.

We played that night at the good old Zoo Bar with Zoe Boekbinder, and her friend Dakota, from Oakland, and World History from Seattle. Dakota sings comedic songs and plays the ukulele. Zoe deftly uses a loop pedal and guitar; she’s got a cool voice.

I met those ladies at a show they set up out in Oakland, a benefit to buy music equipment for a music program in a prison where Zoe performs sometimes. World History has a really pretty sound. They are on permanent tour. I bought a 7” of theirs, an edition of 25 on clear vinyl of a choir they directed singing a couple of their songs. Their band stickers say “Don’t Talk to Cops.”

It was great to play again with Joe Salvati on pedal steel and dobro.

Here's Lillian hiding in the drums!
